About The Comic Book, “BRZRKR” Written By Keanu Reeves
We have already seen his work in movies like John Wick, The Matrix, Bill and Ted, etc. Now, for sure, his fans cannot wait to see another flabbergasting side of their favorite actor. Talking about his work, he has informed the upcoming 12-issue limited series “BRZRKR,” which will be launched on October 7.
That’s a comic book series for Boom! Studios, which was planned after Reeves met them the previous year to create an autobiography, in which the main character is none other than Keanu. He told USA Today the whole story about the planning, revealing that he finds some time to interact on Skype for “BRZRKR”, while being in Berlin for the rehearsals of “Matrix 4.”
As of now, we are just aware that the story will definitely be filled with several twists. As for the character, Reeves had portrayed his idea about the character “who was born 80,000 years ago, half-man, his father’s a war god. It’s a little fantasy in reality.”
He added: “I had this image in my head of a guy fighting through the ages because of his father’s compulsion to violence,” but with the pathos of a man “trapped and trying to figure it out.” The story, co-written with Matt Kindt, the man named Berzerker is a half-mortal and half-god, an entirely different context from the one we see in usual movies.
Also, the seemingly immortal character would be seen working for the US government, doing jobs in return to get bits of the reason behind his existence. Moreover, the team behind the work involves the illustrator Alessandro Vitti, color artist Bill Crabtree, letterer Clem Robins, and conceptual/cover artist Rafael Grampá.
And here is the synopsis for BRZRKR:
“After wandering the world for centuries, Berzerker may have finally found a refuge – working for the US government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, Berzerker will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence… and how to end it.”
The editor-in-chief, Matt Gagnon, also finds it gladdening to work with Reeves. He admits that you can quickly assimilate why Keanu has gained this huge success, just by talking to him for a while. Meanwhile, Kindt also supports this statement, saying Keanu has added his touch of creativity to obtain a story that isn’t just the run-of-the-mill.
Keanu has also asked Kindt to add his imagination to the story. Besides, the story will not only revolve around the events filled with blood and guns; you’ll witness a “warm guy” but “world-weary” because of his days of yore. More precisely, you’ll come across a character with an astounding memory and being fluent in several languages.
