Alien TV Series Timeline Sets the Show Pretty Close to a Divisive Ridley Scott Movie

Movies July, 08, 2025

The Alien franchise is about humans encountering aliens and going through horrible things. It’s much more challenging to keep track of when exactly these things happen. In Alien The world is set in 2122. In Aliens it is 57 years later and in Alien 3 it is ten years later. Strange things then begin to happen.

The story of Alien: Covenant takes place in 2014 Prometheus in 2093 and Alien Resurrection in 202 years. Alien Romulus will take place around twenty years after the first film in 2024 between the first two films. Then there are the numerous Alien vs. Predator video games novels comic books and movies.

Noah Hawley is bringing a new Alien TV series. He is well known for his work on the Fargo Show and Legion. According to Deadline the movie is set about thirty years before the existence of Alien or in the words of FX CEO John Landgraf near the end of this century seventy-odd years from now. The new series would then take place in the 2090s.

The deadline is important to remember. It says that the program took place a few years before Prometheus. This places it in the late 2080s or early 2090s. Regarding the show’s discussion topic it is unclear if any of the contrasting mythology and events of Prometheus will be introduced in the series.

An important element in Ridley Scott’s universe the series focuses on the initial stages of android creation. The thematic continuities will be visible to fans of Scott’s work. In both Prometheus and Alien Covenant these thematic continuities are clear. An important feature is the complex human-synthetic creation interactions. The fresh series will examine the significant issues of identity consciousness and the principles of creating a life shown earlier in these films.

Through its story the show will discover the reason behind Weyland-Yutani’s funding of androids. It will consider the company’s future perspective: Android is essential to society and business. Though originally motivated by innovation and originality this innovative mentality shows the company’s legal problems and social adjustments. The show will provide multiple views of this development focusing on how the research for technical advancement can have negative effects.

The program provides a new point of view on Weyland-Yutani’s changes by focusing on these important years. It will show how an organization based on the niche of technological advancement will gradually change towards a more serious and logical mindset.

The journey shows the broad concept of determination power and the continuously blurred lines between artificial intelligence and humanity. It also lays out the foundation for the corporation’s action in the future. This concept will help viewers to fully understand the Weyland- Yuan corporation’s beginnings and the occurring effect on the alien cosmos.

Except for the first attention on Weyland-Yutani creator Noah Hawley has kept the plan ready for the new Another Planet TV series. But what has come in the front is unbelievable. Sydney Chandler who appeared on Apple TV+’s Sugar will play Wendy in the series. Wendy is a meta-human with an adult body but a child’s mind and child’s mind and power. This multitalented character’s mission will look at problems to identify grow and the nature of human beings. This will add a new category to the program.

Kirsch a digital instructor played by Timothy Olyphant will guide Wendy on her new journey. As Wendy’s teacher Kirsch will discover the connection between humans and androids. This theme is common in the Alien Movies. Wendy and Kirsch’s connections which have scientific and strong emotions. It is expected to be an important storytelling point in the TV series.

Noah Hawley’s Alien TV series is against property rules and regulations. It was seen in his decision not to give android names like Ash Bishop Call and David in alphabetical order. Hawley uses many of the fresh ideas in his work. His television series Fargo focused on the Coen brothers’ careers while developing their identity with references only related to the 1996 film.

Like that Hawley the powerful superhuman son of Charles Xavier shows David Haller in the X-Men series. He has a different perspective on Marvel characters like the Shoow King. Suddenly his mind changes strongly from common ideas. This tendency of replicating popular universe shows that the television series Alien will continue to challenge barriers and try new ways of stories.

Hawley will likely get something new and exciting to the alien world by going against their expectations and showing his creative ideas to reality. From his previous performances fans should expect a series that takes challenges while being close to its place of origin.

As of today it looks like the television series Alien would fit smoothly within the past that the franchise has set. With a few generations between the 1979 film Alien and the television series Noah Hawley has lots of opportunities.

These include the development of the franchise's historical context without modifying what happened in the first film. Because of this historical gap Hawley has much creative freedom to introduce new features characters and stories to the Alien universe while staying committed to its historical roots.
