The name of the kid was Jonathan. He was as adorable and healthy as any other kid. He had the cutest smile and little feet. The only thing that made him different from other kids was the hair of the 50-year old bloke on his back.

Jonathan’s parents Anthony Lopez, 28 and Nancy Rivera, 26 was pleasantly surprised by seeing the baby. The baby has thick hair on his arms, legs, back, and shoulders. He started to grow a beard as well. Seeing his growth of hair, Anthony called him mini wolverine.

Jonathan was the topic of discussion in the hospital and among his family members. People were making fun of him. Some said that he will start shaving before walking. Many of them were joking about him being a grown-up man. The nurses said that he would be able to keep himself warm in winters just like animals do.

The reason for this occurrence wasn’t known to the couple. In the ultrasound, they were able to differentiate between the gender of the baby. The hair was not shown in the ultrasound mainly because the machine was not a 4-D one.

One more supernatural thing happened during Jonathan’s birth. He was born in the amniotic sac. The sac didn’t break before the birth. This is a very infrequent occurrence. Because of its unique feature, this phenomenon is considered lucky in some cultures. As we all know, people have the habit of linking every unique thing to supernatural activity.

Nurses have informed Anthony and Nancy that hair will shed during bathing. This indicates that Jonathan will not be able to keep this power for long. He will lose his hair and his werewolf ability eventually.

As per an article in Today’s Parent, this kind of soft, downy hair on a newborn is known as “lanugo” which is pronounced as ‘la-NOO-go’. This kind of hair is produced by fetal hair follicles during the 4-6 months of pregnancy. This is done by nature to keep the body warm in the womb and protect the baby’s fragile body.

Generally, this hair shed during 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. In rare cases, babies are born with it. Being born with the hair doesn’t imply that there is something wrong with the baby. It is just as normal a phenomenon as a baby born with less hair. It is just unique in its way.

With the youngsters born with lanugo, it is observed that the hair vanishes within a few weeks of being born. It is replaced by the finer less visible vellus hair which is very common among the other humans.
