Man Sells His PS5 After His Wife Finds Out That It Isn’t An Air Purifier

Gaming July, 03, 2025

Even though it has a remote controller and a straight television plug, the wife believed it for an air purifier. Anyhow, this story came to limelight after a Taiwanese man posted about the same on Facebook. In the post, the man talked about how he saw someone selling up their PS5 console. This was queer enough for him to put it on social media because PS5 has recently come out in most places around the world and has been selling out very quickly.

The person buying the console, Jin Wu, had set up a meeting in person with the potential seller. When he called him up to sort it out, he was answered by a female, who didn’t sound much of a gamer to Wu. He was specified by the seller that the console he was going to buy was very cheap as compared to any other on Facebook’s marketplace that day. While taking his story ahead on Facebook, the buyer wrote how when the seller arrived, it was a middle-aged man. He also added that he could tell that the man was a gamer by just looking at him once.

As the duo talked during the sale, Wu asked him from where he had bought the console. The seller told him that he had got it from Pchome (a major online marketplace in Taiwan.) Surprised by how fast the man would’ve been in reserving the console, he asked him if he had reserved two. He also added that if it wasn’t the case, why was he even selling it. To which the seller told him that he was selling it because his wife wants him to. Wu further mentioned in his post how he was hushed on hearing this. He said he could see the pain of the man by seeing the look in his eyes.

After reading this story on Facebook, a lot of people have mentioned how they found it strikingly similar to a South Korean cartoon, by a Youtuber named Jangbbijju. In that show, a man tried to convince his wife that the PlayStation was a notable router called ‘Plash Speed.’ Well, the important thing we learn here is to talk to our partner before purchasing such a thing and not to be forceful with them if they want to buy something that makes them happy.
