In Singapore a strange yet intriguing incident happened when a robot dog named “Spot” was seen walking around a park. This dog ensured that the social distancing norms were followed around by the people.

Boston Dynamics the leading robotics company of the world built Spot who is now also playing an important role at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. It screens the patients for the virus easing the process for the authorities.

Spot’s presence in the hospital doesn’t bewilder anyone but when a robot dog is found running on the streets in a strange way it feels weird!

People had varied reactions when they saw Spot pacing around in a street in Singapore. Some of them started recording videos of the dog and could be heard saying “Hello friend! I love you I love you so much!”

Spot makes his way out of the spotlight and away from the cameras and people found it adorable. A Twitter user Nathan shared the video on the platform and it went viral.

Some people on the other hand did not tag it as amusing or cute. They were slightly petrified by this and expressed their views. “This is so genuinely terrifying I would seriously kick this out of fear” one commented.

Another one also called it “terrifying” and urged everyone to “watch the Black Mirror episode Heavy Metal.”

Nathan tweeted “Everyone yelling telling me he is not cute and will destroy us all. Um that’s ur opinion!!!! I for one welcome our robot dog overlords. Kings!!!!!”

Marc Raibert The founder of Boston Dynamics explained the purpose of creating Spot and what it aims to do.

“Everybody wants their train station and other facilities to be disinfected so that when you go in you know you’re safe. And in those kinds of situations the robots can autonomously do all the operations because there aren’t people there to interact with” Raibert said.

He added “Approximately 120 of these hi-tech canines are being used across the world for various purposes. Each sale is currently being negotiated on an individual basis however they will reportedly soon be available for purchase through the Boston Dynamics website.”
