Sony Encouraged Gamers To Stay At Home By Giving Free PS4 Games

Gaming May, 20, 2025

The company decided to offer the PS users a couple of PSP4 freebies so that the usual gamers can sit back and play while in isolation. The company at the same time was also trying to constantly show their support towards people who are in frontline as well as towards the ones who were constantly protecting NHS through this global crisis.

Games like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey were made available to download for free from April 17 until May 5 with both games being ‘yours to keep’ once the gamers have redeemed them.

It wasn’t only 2 games because if one looks closely Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection consists of three games: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception all of which have been remastered for PS4 so it was a win win situation for the players.

Sony took this opportunity to express their gratitude towards people who were doing so much to lessen the impact of the unfortunate outbreak on all of us through a statement they had posted on their website.

The statement was made by the company’s President and CEO who mentioned that while people were staying back at home and practicing social and physical distancing they felt deeply proud to be able to provide its players and users a platform for home entertainment so that users could create a playful environment even if they were at home. By doing this Sony also shouldered the responsibility of helping the independent game studios who might be suffering from financial crises.

Sony felt a sense of utter pride and gratitude as they were able to provide the much needed entertainment to its users while they were just at home and all they depended for fun and relaxation was on the games. They believe that this might just seem a very small step but they are equally grateful to be able to support their players users communities and partners.

They managed to caution its users that some games might take a little longer than usual to get downloaded as certain measures are being taken to secure the internet glitch in the U.S. and Europe but it was totally worth it.
