The Famous Star War Robot Comes To Life In This Deutschland Observatory

Fiction February, 05, 2025

This wondrous intergalactic triumph is designed by a German professor Hubert Zitt along with his students who then appointed painter Klaus Ruffing to accomplish the task of recreating the observatory’s look.

Designboom a leading architectural magazine featured the large life-size astromech droid appreciating it and also mentioned that the work was completed in September 2018 and has been a primary tourist attraction ever since.

Located in the Zweibrücken city of Germany this structure stands tall as an exemplar of human talent which also caught the eye of the Star Wars actor Mark Hamill who took to twitter to applaud the work by tweeting “R2-D2 observatory transformed Germans into giant nerds.” The like count for this tweet has crossed the 8000 mark and is still on the increase.

The structure earlier was a dull and tedious white domed building whose fate changed when the team decided to give it a new look. Professor Zitt is famous for conducting lectures at the University of Kaiserslautern on the genres of science-fiction and mystery.

As noted by Curbed the primary markings of R2-D2 are in cobalt blue in colour with the door painted featuring the square shaped buttons whilst the eye is displayed on the roof. Prior to this in the year 2010 the renowned Goodsell Observatory in Northfield Michigan was redone into the giant droid using spray-painted fabric and shiny dome trinkets on an ad interim basis.

So all those willing to cross off a real time movie like experience from their bucket list this is your place to be.
