This is How You Can Comment With GIFs on Instagram
Instagram is growing day by day and with it, its features are also evolving. Recently, Instagram has introduced the feature of commenting with GIFs. As it is a new feature, many people are unaware of it or they just don’t know how to use it. If you haven't seen the new feature yet then there is no need to hurry. The feature is allegedly being phased in. Instagram will soon make the feature accessible to everyone.
Nowadays, people prefer using GIFs for their online communication rather than text. A GIF communicates more than words can. This is the main reason that might explain why they have become a mainstay in modern-day conversations. There is a GIF for every situation. You can easily replace emotion with a GIF. Instagram is a popular app when it comes to sharing photos and videos of our day-to-day activities. It has introduced many new features, including the ability to share GIFs in response to posts and stories.
Instagram will be using GIPHY to implement its commenting with GIFs on its posts of both photos and videos. The GIFs will be pulled from the online GIF database GIPHY. Instagram has long allowed users to add GIF stickers to their stories, but sharing them in replies has been impossible. Undoubtedly, it is indeed difficult to use GIFs in the comments.
Nonetheless, it would be impossible to launch all the features in one go. It has been revealed that the feature is being rolled out in phases. It will start with the basics and most likely be expanded in the future weeks. Most likely, the options would be expanded further. It would be most likely that using GIFs in the comments or the DMs would be easy.
For now, the steps that you can use to send or comment GIFs are as mentioned further. You can submit GIFs for both stories and posts. You can easily send GIFs using these simple steps. You can easily go into the Send Message or Comment Box and type a keyword relevant to the GIF you wish to send. After writing the keyword, you would be presented with relevant GIF symbols from the GIPHY collection. Select the GIF symbol you wish to send. Tap on the GIF of your choice and press submit. Yeah, it can be done this easily.
Aside from GIFs in replies, the social media app has introduced a new set of features as well. These features would give users more control. Some of the new features that are introduced now are the 'Not Interested' option and the 'Quiet Mode' option. Instagram introduced both modes in January of this year.
Quiet Mode was created to help users focus and establish boundaries with their friends and followers. Users will be unable to receive notifications once the functionality is enabled. The profiles will be set to 'In Quiet Mode.’ Any DMs will be immediately responded to and people would know that you don’t want to be disturbed then.
Initially, the Quite Mode was available in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. However, the business intends to expand the feature to more countries and make it accessible to all Instagram users across the world.
On the other hand, 'Not Interested,' is another new tool introduced by Instagram that will assist users in managing recommendations. While users could previously hide comments and direct messages, Instagram has now expanded the feature to suggested posts just like YouTube. When a user selects 'Not Interested' in a post, Instagram will no longer display similar posts to that user in the future. Nonetheless, this is a much-needed feature as people had to see reels in which they are often not interested because of the Instagram algorithm.
