Sonic the Hedgehog TV Show 'Knuckles' Sparks Excitement

A brand new TV show called "Knuckles" is being created based on the popular character from Sonic the Hedgehog! The show will have a live-action format and has now begun production in London. Fans of the lively series will be able to watch it on Paramount+ very soon.

In this exciting spin-off we will follow the adventures of Knuckles the Echidna who possesses superpowers. The story takes place between the second and third live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies. In the second movie Knuckles was seen as a partner of the villain Doctor Robotnik. Now we get to dive deeper into his story before he becomes a hero in the third movie where he will face off against the menacing Shadow the Hedgehog.

The good news is that many of the beloved actors from the main Sonic the Hedgehog movie series will be returning for this spin-off. Idris Elba who provided the voice for Knuckles will continue to lend his talent to the character in the TV show. Adam Pally known for his role as hapless cop Wade Whipple will play a prominent role as well. Tika Sumpter who portrays Maddie (also known as Sonic's Mom) will also make a comeback.

But wait there's more! Joining the cast of this exciting show are some new faces. Julian Barratt famous for his work in "The Mighty Boosh" Edi Patterson from "The Righteous Gemstones" Scott Mescudi from "Don't Look Up" Ellie Taylor from "Ted Lasso" and Rory McCann from "Game of Thrones" will all be part of the adventure. Each of them will play a crucial role in the story which revolves around Knuckles agreeing to train Whipple in the ways of the Echidna warrior. It's safe to say that things are bound to get wild!

The action in the show is expected to directly connect to the events in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. However we can anticipate that some of the exciting mysteries from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be saved for the big screen. So get ready for an action-packed storyline filled with surprises and rapid hedgehog speed!

The TV show "Knuckles" will be helmed by a team of talented directors including Jorma Taccone from "The Lonely Island" who has shown his skills with his mockumentary "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping." Jeff Fowler the director of both Sonic movies will also be involved as he directs the pilot episode and serves as an executive producer for the series. Other directors involved in the project include Ged Wright Brandon Trost and Carol Banker.

Taking up the writing duties for "Knuckles" is John Whittington the screenwriter for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He will also serve as an executive producer alongside Brian Schacter and James Madejski. If you loved the lighthearted and humorous tone of the original films get ready for more silly antics in the TV show!

As of now the release date for "Knuckles" hasn't been announced. But with the third Sonic movie set to hit the big screens in December 2024 we can expect that the TV show will launch on Paramount+ sometime before then.
